It’s time to start dance! We hope everyone had a wonderful summer. Ms. Brooke, Ms. Alison, and I are looking forward to seeing new and returning students. Classes began on Tuesday, September 8th. Below is information for new and returning students along with some general information.

Class Registration

There is still time to join a dance class! We would love to have you join our studio. Dance registrations are being taken through November. Check out the available classes on the CLASSES page. If you have any questions call Lynn at 248-722-1809.

Dance Attire

Dance attire for girls is pink tights and any color leotard, black tap shoes with elastic instead of laces and pink ballet shoes. Boys dance attire is black pants, white t-shirt, black ballet shoes and tap shoes. Jazz shoes are not necessary to start the year out, but a jazz booty style shoe is a nice addition to your dance bag. Check the DANCE ATTIRE page for more information.

Dance Tuition

Dance tuition is due the 1st week of every month. Tuition is due monthly September thru May, there are 9 months of dance tuition due. Payments should be placed in the payment box at the studio or mailed to the P.O. Box. Checks should be made out to Lynn’s Dance Studio or place cash in an envelope with your student’s name. Check the CLASS COSTS page for more information.

Septemberfest

We will performing some or our recital dances on Saturday, September 12th @ 3:00pm. A list of dances we would like to perform is posted at the studio or on the studio Facebook page. Please let us know ASAP if you can participate, so we can be sure we have enough dancers to perform in each dance.

Photo Release Form

From time to time, Lynn’s Dance Studio takes photos of dancers for promotional materials. Photos may be used in brochures, advertisements, performance slide shows, as well as, for use on the website and Facebook. If you DO NOT want your dancer’s photo taken/used for any of the above, please inform Lynn’s Dance Studio by filling out the form below and return it to your dancer’s teacher. Thank you.

REMIND Text Alerts

If the studio is closed for weather or an emergency, a REMIND text will be sent out along with a Facebook post. There are sheets on how to sign up for REMIND at the studio or check below. If you have any questions about a certain day, feel free to give us a call.

Spring Dance Recital

A dance recital is held in May at the Brandon High School Performing Arts Center; these dates will be posted in November. Costume money will be due in December, before Christmas break, costumes are ordered the first week of January. A recital fee will be due the first week in April. Check the studio website or the Facebook page for updates and information.

Recital USB

The distribution of the recital USB has been delayed due to illness of the videographer. We’re hoping they’ll be available soon.

Studio Information

Just a friendly reminder as we are still trying to clean in-between classes, try to arrive promptly at your class time so the waiting room does not get so congested. Parents remember if you are bringing your dancers in, please get them settled in a chair with their dance shoes on and then come back at the end of class for pick-up.

Waiver of Liability Relating to Coronavirus/COVID-19

The novel coronavirus, COVID-19, has been declared a worldwide pandemic by the World Health Organization. COVID-19 is reported to be extremely contagious. The state of medical knowledge is evolving, but the virus is believed to spread from person-to-person contact and/or by contact with contaminated surfaces and objects, and even possibly in the air. People reportedly can be infected and show no symptoms and therefore spread the disease. The exact methods of spread and contraction are unknown, and there is no known treatment, cure, or vaccine for COVID-19. Evidence has shown that COVID-19 can cause serious and potentially life threatening illness and even death.

Lynn’s Dance Studio cannot prevent you [or your child(ren)] from becoming exposed to, contracting, or spreading COVID-19 while participating in our services or premises. It is not possible to prevent against the presence of the disease. Therefore, if you choose to participate and/or enter onto Lynn’s Dance Studio’s premises or any premises where the recital will be held, you may be exposing yourself to and/or increasing your risk of contracting or spreading COVID-19.

ASSUMPTION OF RISK: I have read and understood the above warning concerning COVID-19. I hereby choose to accept the risk of contracting COVID-19 for myself and/or my children in order to participate and/or enter the dance studio’s premises or the premises of wherever the dance recital may be held. These services are of such value to me [and/or to my children,] that I accept the risk of being exposed to, contracting, and/or spreading COVID-19 in order to participate and/or enter either the studio or recital premises in person.

WAIVER OF LAWSUIT/LIABILITY: I hereby forever release and waive my right to bring suit against Lynn’s Dance Studio and its owners, officers, directors, managers, officials, trustees, agents, employees, or other representatives in connection with exposure, infection, and/or spread of COVID-19 related to utilizing Lynn’s Dance Studio’s services and premises in addition to any premises the recital may be held. I understand that this waiver means I give up my right to bring any claims including for personal injuries, death, disease or property losses, or any other loss, including but not limited to claims of negligence and give up any claim I may have to seek damages, whether known or unknown, foreseen or unforeseen.

CHOICE OF LAW: I understand and agree that the law of the State of Michigan will apply to this contract.

I HAVE CAREFULLY READ AND FULLY UNDERSTAND ALL PROVISIONS OF THIS RELEASE, AND FREELY AND KNOWINGLY ASSUME THE RISK AND WAIVE MY RIGHTS CONCERNING LIABILITY AS DESCRIBED ABOVE:
