Dear Dancers and Parents,

I hope everyone is having a good year. We have started learning our dances and the dancers are looking great! Costumes will be arriving soon and will be handed out during class. Winter isn’t quite over but warmer days are here, and recital is just over 2 months away! Be sure to attend all of your classes, recital dances are teamwork and everyone needs to know their part. Dancing will boost your memory, increase your flexibility, and generally improves your physical and mental health. Spring Break

The dance studio will be closed for Spring Break from Monday, March 30th through Sunday, April 5th. Classes will resume on Monday, April 6th. Have a wonderful week!

Costumes

Pictures of all the costumes are posted at the dance studio. Most female students will need to have pink ballet shoes, pink tights, and black tap shoes. Some students will also need tan tights, black or tan jazz shoes, or inexpensive canvas tennis shoes to decorate. These items will be noted on the costume picture at the studio. Daddy-Daughter Dances

The sign-up sheet for the Daddy-Daughter dances is posted at the dance studio through Friday, March 13th. Dancers must be 7 - 18 years old to participate. Classes will be limited in size.

A class fee of $115 which includes a costume for the girls is due at the first practice.

Tentative rehearsal dates are Sundays: March 29th, April 12th, April 19th, April 26th, and May 3rd. The final practice will be on Saturday, May 9th. Specific time slots for rehearsals will be posted on Monday, March 16th. Rehearsals are in the late afternoon. You will also be part of the dress rehearsals on Thursday, May 14th and Friday, May 15th.

Recital Fee/Tickets

The recital fee of $110 per dancer/family will be due the first week of May. All dancers/families will receive 10 tickets and a flash drive with a recording of the recital. For more information please go to the RECITAL FEE/TICKETS page.

Dress Rehearsal/Recital

Mark your calendars! Dress rehearsals are Thursday, May 14th and Friday, May 15th. The recitals are Saturday, May 16th. The afternoon recital will be at 1:00pm, the evening recital will be at 6:00pm. More information will be posted at a later date. Dress rehearsals and recital are performed at the Brandon Performing Arts Center at the high school.

Studio Information

Just a friendly reminder as we are still trying to clean in-between classes, try to arrive promptly at your class time so the waiting room does not get so congested. Parents remember if you are bringing your dancers in, please get them settled in a chair with their dance shoes on and then come back at the end of class for pick-up.

Do not forget to sign up for studio text alerts. If the studio is closed for weather or an emergency a Remind text will be sent out along with a Facebook post. We also use text alerts to send out updates about vacations and/or studio activities. The instructions are below and there is a sheet at the studio on how to sign-up.

Waiver of Liability Relating to Coronavirus/COVID-19

The novel coronavirus, COVID-19, has been declared a worldwide pandemic by the World Health Organization. COVID-19 is reported to be extremely contagious. The state of medical knowledge is evolving, but the virus is believed to spread from person-to-person contact and/or by contact with contaminated surfaces and objects, and even possibly in the air. People reportedly can be infected and show no symptoms and therefore spread the disease. The exact methods of spread and contraction are unknown, and there is no known treatment, cure, or vaccine for COVID-19. Evidence has shown that COVID-19 can cause serious and potentially life threatening illness and even death.

Lynn’s Dance Studio cannot prevent you [or your child(ren)] from becoming exposed to, contracting, or spreading COVID-19 while participating in our services or premises. It is not possible to prevent against the presence of the disease. Therefore, if you choose to participate and/or enter onto Lynn’s Dance Studio’s premises or any premises where the recital will be held, you may be exposing yourself to and/or increasing your risk of contracting or spreading COVID-19.

ASSUMPTION OF RISK: I have read and understood the above warning concerning COVID-19. I hereby choose to accept the risk of contracting COVID-19 for myself and/or my children in order to participate and/or enter the dance studio’s premises or the premises of wherever the dance recital may be held. These services are of such value to me [and/or to my children,] that I accept the risk of being exposed to, contracting, and/or spreading COVID-19 in order to participate and/or enter either the studio or recital premises in person.

WAIVER OF LAWSUIT/LIABILITY: I hereby forever release and waive my right to bring suit against Lynn’s Dance Studio and its owners, officers, directors, managers, officials, trustees, agents, employees, or other representatives in connection with exposure, infection, and/or spread of COVID-19 related to utilizing Lynn’s Dance Studio’s services and premises in addition to any premises the recital may be held. I understand that this waiver means I give up my right to bring any claims including for personal injuries, death, disease or property losses, or any other loss, including but not limited to claims of negligence and give up any claim I may have to seek damages, whether known or unknown, foreseen or unforeseen.

CHOICE OF LAW: I understand and agree that the law of the State of Michigan will apply to this contract.

I HAVE CAREFULLY READ AND FULLY UNDERSTAND ALL PROVISIONS OF THIS RELEASE, AND FREELY AND KNOWINGLY ASSUME THE RISK AND WAIVE MY RIGHTS CONCERNING LIABILITY AS DESCRIBED ABOVE:
